Ukrainian cuisine is so close to Russian people. Like Ukraine itself. The atmosphere of a real Ukrainian hut, with white walls, sunflowers and a real clay stove with pots and grips, tablecloths and rushnyks with Ukrainian ornaments and handmade Swan Lake carpet … On the walls – photographs of distant Ukrainian relatives, on the shelves – homemade blanks of Kuma . Well, for sure you get to a distant farm, somewhere near Dikanka, to visit the hospitable Kuma … Everything is real. In “Merry Kum”, you can shoot the continuation of the famous “Evenings on a Farm”.
They don’t come here like in a restaurant. Go to the “Merry Kuma” as they go to visit old friends. At the entrance, a hohlushka certainly meets you in bulk. Penalty for not arriving earlier. So the mood appears, light and laid-back. Now take the menu. You will want to read it, but difficulties arise … It is in Ukrainian. “What a strange Russian?” You ask. Restaurant Pyatkin
Restaurateur fell in love not only with Nizhny Novgorod, but also with the guests of our city. Still would! After all, the building itself is a real architectural monument – in the 19th century the estate of the great Nizhny Novgorod merchant Pyatov was located here. The building itself was built in 1819 and is protected by the state – vaulted ceilings, hand-painted arched vaults, large windows and double doors. The atmosphere of the late 19th – early 20th century is sustained in interiors and details – tiled stoves, carved sideboards, candlesticks, gramophones; in antique rarities – samovars, paintings and vases, bronze watches and busts … On the walls there are photographs of the great Dmitriev and Karelin and reproductions of old paintings on a merchant-culinary theme. You can see some reproductions only here and … in the art museum located on the Upper Volga Embankment, whose leadership ten years ago made it possible to make single copies. “The establishment is pleasant and without pomp.” Entering a restaurant, you find yourself in a different century. Pyatkin is a place without pathos, but with its own unique character and mood. In any of the three halls, you can accommodate both together, sitting in large comfortable chairs, looking out the window at the views of Christmas Street, and a large noisy company. You can come here to try classic Russian cuisine or just drink tinctures of your own cooking. Tea is served here in a samovar with bagels, and to it is white lump sugar, like that of a grandmother in the village, the one that has a little bite.

The eternal green restaurant-garden, where we combine Georgian, Uzbek and Russian cuisines!
Outstanding ceramic dishes, masonry of old red bricks, evergreens from floor to ceiling – a two-story restaurant-garden (that is what they call themselves in Pakhlava) was opened in a 19th-century mansion at the intersection of Alekseevskaya and Oktyabrskaya streets. Brazier and tandoor reign here, on the ground floor they prepare whole carp, sturgeon steaks, rack of lamb, rosy chicken with smoke. Thanks to the second, lush Uzbek cakes, big-eyed khachapuri and searing samsa appear. Ojahuri from meat with vegetables is languishing in Arabic tajin, Georgian (and not only) wines are poured into glasses. The local collection of plants is monitored by a hereditary gardener
